SWV’s debut album, “It’s About Time,” contains the song “You’re Always on My Mind.”
On October 27, 1992, RCA Records issued the album in the country.
With 2,100,000 copies sold in the United States, it was the 16th best-selling album of 1993, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and it received 11 nominations for Billboard Music Awards.
SWV was also nominated for Best New Artist at the 36th Grammy Awards as a result of it.
For selling more than 3,000,000 albums in the US alone, It’s About Time received a 3 platinum certification in 1996.
With “I’m So into You,” “Downtown,” “Weak,” a remix of “Right Here/Human Nature,” and “You’re Always on My Mind,” the album produced five top-charting singles. The latter two, “Right Here/Human Nature” and “Weak,” both peaked at number one on the R&B singles chart (shortened to “Always on My Mind” for single release).
“Anything,” the last song from Its About Time, was remixed and included in the soundtrack of the 1994 movie Above the Rim.
