Jon B.’s song “Someone to Love” is from his debut album Bonafide.
The song is a duet with Babyface that garnered considerable attention on the Bad Boys soundtrack and was released as the album’s first single on April 3, 1995.
The song, which was heavily influenced by Babyface, reached number 10 on the US Hot 100 chart and number 7 on the US R&B chart, and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
In 1996, the song was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.
Jon B., who was 21 at the time, described the nomination as “an honor he could not have hoped for.”
